Mississauga Kids and Pumpkinseed Publishing Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of a new website Mississauga Private Schools. This website will provide up to date information on Private, independent and Montessori Schools in and around Mississauga.
We hope this new website will help Mississauga families find the information they need when considering educational options for their children. The website will feature articles about local Montessori and Private Schools. There will also be lists of Mississauga Montessori and Private Schools as well as videos eventually.
This new website will be taking the place of this blog. Please be advised we will not be updating this blog with any regular frequency in the future. Thank you.

As part of raising the awareness of Montessori Education MontessoriWorks School will be holding several events to commemorate:
Shake & Bake Sale – The crisis in Haiti helps us appreciate our own lives. The children of MontessoriWorks School will be having a Shake & Bake Sale to raise the plight of Haitians and donate money to support a worthy cause in helping strangers in need. This is the key to Montessori Education for Peace. The event will be held on Tuesday February 23, 2010 from 9.00 am – 6.00 pm. All are welcomed to come and support this worthy cause.
Parent Education Evening – Come and discover how Montessori Education prepares your child for life! This will be held on Thursday February 25, 2010 from 6.30 pm – 7.30 pm
Open House at MontessoriWorks – Saturday February 27, 2010 from 10.30 am – 2.30 pm. Drop in and find out, what is Montessori and why it is could be the best choice for your child’s Foundation in Education.

The main focus of the camp is creating a positive, non-competitive program targeted for children ages 4-9 years of age. Brilliant Minds Montessori is offering a summer day camp at the Mississauga Valley Community Centre. The camp runs from June 29th to August 28th and caters to children between the ages of 18 months and 6 years. Tailor your child’s attendance on a weekly basis so that your summer is flexible! Montessori academics will be in effect but emphasis will be placed on fun and games! Included in our activities are: Arts & Crafts, Sports, Nature Walks, Biking, Playground Fun, Field Trips, Picnics, Cooking, Story Telling, & Movie Days!

MontessoriWorks Registration Begins
Pre Registration for Summer School and Fall 2009 academic year begins in March 2009 at Montessori Works

Mitten Tree Donation:
As part of MontessoriWorks continuing efforts to be involved in the community, the school had over the holiday period placed a Mitten Tree in the school and sought the support of parents and families in our drive to collect donations for the poor and needy during the winter season. Children were taught the value of sharing and the joy of gift giving to the less fortunate. It was a phenomenal success. We were able to collect as follows:
2 winter jackets
1 snow suit
8 hat and mitten sets
12 winter hats
25 pairs of mittens
2 sets of hat scarf and mitten
The donations were made to Windfall Clothing Services

How to find a Montessori School in Mississauga!
Got My Kids Mississauga has an amazing homepage with information about what is going on in Mississauga for kids and families. Occasionally you can find an article about a local Mississauga Montessori School there. You can also use their online directory to find one in your area! At the top of the Got My Kids Mississauga page your find a search bar. Just pull down Mississauga under location and then Montessori School under "select category". If your open to other kinds of educational options you might try selecting Mississauga and Private School and see what pops up!

Summer Camps at Mississauga Montessori Works offers a variety of themes to meet the interest of children. Creativity and imagination are the key ingredients in what we offer
Our full day camps are designed “A La Carte” and based on weekly rates to suit parents’ summer schedule. All activities are held at the school and our student teacher ratio is 1:8. Our themed activities include sports, science, arts, cooking etc. Each week is a new discovery and a memorable experience.
Our camps are conducted by experienced teachers and camp counselors who provide professional supervision in a very nurturing environment.
